New single ‘Love Is Free’ by Ruben Fox ft. Mussinghi Brian-Edwards out this 30th Oct 26

“Love Is Free ft. Mussinghi Brian Edwards” is a succinct, forward-moving piece built around an expressive conversation between Ruben Fox and guest saxophonist – The songbird – Mussinghi Brian Edwards. The interplay between the two horns gives the track its momentum, with their distinct voices meeting in a warm, fluid musical dialogue. Cinematic yet immediate, it captures the spontaneity and soul of the wider score in its most direct form. It’s swaying, gentle melody featuring Fox’s rich tenor sound is, says Fox “perhaps the most potent success on this score”. The composition becomes an anthem for Saeed’s charity, Wrestle For Humanity.

“In regards to the process, I had the themes worked out in my head before the session. On the day I taught them to the band by ear and we recorded takes of each theme. During the second half of the day we manipulated the material in reaction to the film being played in front of us. It was a nice mixture of premeditation and spontaneous creation.” – Ruben Fox

Hailing from Brixton, South London, Ruben Fox is a compelling presence on the international jazz scene, recognized for the quality of his tone, emotional sensitivity of his playing, and the narrative depth of his compositional work. Fox was mentored by jazz icons Wynton Marsalis and George Coleman, and currently balances his own artistic work with performances alongside global voices like Jon Batiste and Olivia Dean. Beyond the stage, he continues his father’s legacy as a dedicated educator and tutor for Kinetika Bloco, co-directing an annual summer program in London that empowers the next generation of musicians through the study and performance of carnival arts.

Love Is Free  is released as a digi-only single on 30 October.  Grappling Grace – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is released on Banger Factory Records (Cat No: BF016) available on vinyl and through all usual digital platforms. 

Grappling Grace will be released worldwide on VICE Sports in early 2027.
